The Joker
I really don't understand the prejudice shown by the remain side against those on lower incomes. I suspect that they would like to deny them the vote completely. Generally the same people who tell us the rest of the time that more has to be done to support those on lower incomes. Add it up and they think of the poor the same way others think of children. I'm surprised the folk of Doncaster and some Welsh villages - both of whom were net beneficiaries of EU funding - were convinced to vote against their own interests by siding with the Brexiters. I understand that this is not what you expected. Allow perhaps that people considered more than the headline issues of immigration and economics, or found the cases put forth on one or both unconvincing. I'm not at all surprised that not everybody can be successfully bribed with their own money.

The thing was that they took the EU grant for granted. Because they had been in receipt of them for so long, the presence of the grant didn't make a difference. Now it will be taken away, they will notice what the EU had been doing for them and probably blame the EU for making them less well off - there seems to be a lack of willingness to take responsibility. You mean EU funding that is our money that they are kindly giving back to us? Now we're leaving the EU, do you think our London-centric governments - of any hue - will continue to subsidise the Donnies' and the Taffies' share of missing EU grants? Or will their taxes instead be spent on the £16billion Crossrail rail project which will only serve London and the home counties of Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Essex. ? Penistone999
More tantruming from the EU leaders = https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/oct/08/eu-leaders-line-up-to-insist-uk-will-pay-a-high-price-for-brexit-stance This sums up perfectly why the country made the right decision in voting to Leave. What a vile bunch of Dictators . ---------- Post added 08-10-2016 at 20:02 ---------- I'm surprised the folk of Doncaster and some Welsh villages - both of whom were net beneficiaries of EU funding - were convinced to vote against their own interests by siding with the Brexiters. They are probably fed up of uncontrolled immigration like the rest of the country.

So immigration is going to be controlled,in your dreams just like the money the nhs is going to get.

I've said it before the referendum - I'll say it again. It's being "honoured" to 2020 I think but it ain't going after that.

That whole 6 million a year that Doncaster got since 1994? Yeah, it's been earth shattering I'm sure. The biggest recipient was 2.5 million towards the £300m Civic and Cultural Centre.
