The consequence thread (Brexit)

Recommended Posts

Yes. Yes they did. I don't think a lot of them had a clue of the impact and others didn't care as long as the foreigners went home. I'm at a loss why they'd think uk government money will head their way after brexit. It isn't happening. Why would it? They won't vote Tory as a result of any extra government money and if labour get it, labour won't need to help them as they'll vote labour anyway.

Cornwall and South Yorkshire immediately after the vote wanted assurances that funding would continue. Well, it is obvious that people didn't know what they voted for or they think the price is worth paying. If it is the latter, they can pay.

I recall, and I'm prepared to be corrected, that the government and/or the EU will guarantee the money until 2020. After that - who knows.

Wasn't it only for agriculture though?

Edit: Just saw this, "In a move which could cost up to £6bn a year, the Treasury will guarantee to back EU-funded projects signed before this year's Autumn Statement."

Oh dear, this is nowhere near as supportive and many were lead to believe. So new projects due to start from 2017 onwards are scrapped.

Get ready for the impact of the collapse of the pound against the dollar to really start hitting...

5p on a litre of petrol by the end of the week.

Inflation rising as a result.

Transport costs going up.

Imported food going up.

Heating costs going up.

Just in time for winter...

The cold realities of brexit start bite!

When I read this, it read like the script of that Doc Brown line in Back to the Future 2 :hihi:
