The consequence thread (Brexit)

Recommended Posts

Robbie Williams left take that first, had a successful solo career? I'm doing my best to make pop culture references here (albeit old ones) ;)

Ah I see now tin. :hihi:

The point I was making in the original post was Justin said 'unlike me' to suggest I want the EU to collapse. I've never said anything of the sort.

Saying I think it will collapse, is a prediction. Just like me saying I think Man City will win the title. Doesn't mean I want it to happen.

I think it's like most things lottie. A balance has to be met, and all the current unrest is whilst a balance is found.

This complicates matters for example these two bolds:

Ok ash, that is why we face a hard time, they have to show the rest that there is a price to pay if they decide to exit the eu.I believe we will not be the last country to leave, the dutch will be the next for sure.

'They' here is an interesting thing. Who is 'they' in this case lottie?

If 'they' is other countries who we trade huge amounts with, and more importantly to me - our and their hundreds of thousands of workers who rely on our trading - they will not want a tough deal when it shows to lose them money/jobs.

If 'they' is the 'men at the top' as it were, or the ideologists fighting for their own cause, then they need to tread carefully, because if they get too TOUGH, and Germany and France for example lose a lot of income and jobs, they won't stand for it. (the people I mean).

How the EU deals with this could make or break its own future.

like above... other countries will be taking a keen eye on this.

If we are seen to be doing better, it's bad for the EU because other countries will see it.

If we are seen to be doing worse, but importantly if it negatively affects other major countries finances/jobs, it's bad for the EU.

When I say countries, I mainly mean France, Germany, Netherlands, Italy etc. i.e. like us, the ones who pay for it.

I doubt Germany will pull out,. If anything, they'll probably try and hold onto it longest.

If any of France, Italy, Spain, Netherlands etc. have a referendum and vote out, it will be the start of the collapse, (or perhaps a combination of countries like Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Spain, Portugal).

Firstly - since when are you an expert on EU matters? What is it that makes you believe the 'EU will fall apart?'

Secondly - the EU isn't saying they will punish Britain, it is saying that Britain can't expect to pick and choose, there is a very significant difference.

Thirdly - of course we'll survive, at a lower standard of living, but that is the choice that was made.

I have never said Or claimed I'm an expert on the EU have I?

I Don't want to be a part of it and I'm willing to suffer the consequences of brexit.

You and other remainers are welcome to go and live in Europe if you love it so much.

The EU minsters have said they will make an example of Britain for brexit and said it will be a hard brexit so they are going to punish Britain= https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2016/oct/13/its-hard-brexit-or-no-brexit-at-all-says-eu-council-president

It's hard brexit or no brexit say the EU bully boys^^

The EU has grown into something that most people in Britain don't want, you and other remainers can argue against brexit till the cows come home and it won't change a thing so please stop going on about the negatives and instead focus on what positives can be gained from brexit.

My money is valued at 20% less than what it was before brexit but you don't see me moaning on here about it.

The remainers are the ones who are talking the country down and it needs to stop.

We won't be in Europe for long,

More than 37% voted to leave,

I'm not bothered about my money being worth 20% less so don't think I'm moaning about it when I'm making a point that I don't care,

It's not leavers democracy it's my point of view.
