Independent office to monitor the truthfulness of political campaigns

The lies were so gross anyone with sense could see through them.

Very very unfortunately you`re incorrect. I didn`t actually know that many people who voted Leave (who were they ? ! ? ), but more than one of them was shocked that, apparently, the NHS wasn`t going to get an extra £350 million once we`ve left the EU. If we do of course.

What is really needed is a law that holds the media responsible for reproducing lies coming from politicians. It really is as simple as that.

How would that affect the Leave battle bus with the promise to spend an extra £350 million on the NHS painted in the side in letters 3ft tall ? Would showing a picture of it, even if it`s in the background, constitute grounds to prosecute the media ?

In short, yes. Really nothing to it, all the media knew it was a lie, they should have stopped showing it, but they continued to portray it.
