bungleboy69
If you honestly think £36 for three days of live music is 'too expensive' then clearly you're very out of touch with what gigs cost. The headliners alone would charge around £30 each to see them, not to mention all the other bands. It's ridiculously cheap for what it is- and compared to other festivals. Have a look around. The days of it being free were unsustainable- as it stands it's the biggest bargain for live music around- and the line-up is interesting and varied. All sorts of different music to suit most tastes. By all means, spend the weekend at home. Save yourself £40-odd if you think it's too expensive. Your loss. Well said.... Its cracking value!! You've probably missed the boat on that one by now... http://www.tramlines.org.uk/information/ ---------- Post added 16-07-2016 at 18:25 ---------- There's loads of free stuff going on - most pubs in/around town, the peace gardens, the small stage by the stall in Endcliffe park (the main folk forest is ticketed). I want to see George Clinton - and that'd be £20/£25 to see him on his own if he was at the 02 - so I wouldn't say £36 for a weekend's music is expensive. And looking outside the world of music, Sheffield Wednesday charge between £20 and £42 for a ticket to see them play for 90 minutes.

Pretty much any pub around Devonshire Green or the University has stuff going on.... Details for the official festival fringe venues is here: http://www.tramlines.org.uk/fringe/ ---------- Post added 18-07-2016 at 23:13 ---------- It looks like the day tickets are sold out, been looking online today. Wanted to go on the Saturday. Reading the posts on here, looks like there are no free gigs this year. Have i got this right, can anyone confirm:huh: The 'main stage' venues require a wristband, the 'fringe' venues are free entry. MAIN STAGE VENUES http://www.tramlines.org.uk/venues/ FRINGE VENUES http://www.tramlines.org.uk/fringe/ There are also a number of pubs that aren't official festival venues putting bands on and offering free entry too. ---------- Post added 18-07-2016 at 23:32 ---------- TRAMLINES BY SUPERTRAM... You can view the programme online here: http://www.tramlines.org.uk/programme/ Argh! That's probably the only venue along there I didn't try. I'm finding the online version pretty difficult with the 'book' format. Would prefer a PDF.
