Jim Smythe was a good friend of my Dad, Cliff Boocock.  I remember Dad telling me that on one occasion when Jim was uncoupling a pair of railway carriages, the engine moved and Jim had his head jammed between the buffers of each carriage.  He had his head bandaged for weeks afterwards, and was very lucky to have survived the accident.

Hi David.  I remember you and your brother and parents lived on the first floor.  Your Dad had a motorbike and sidecar  and you went to live somewhere near Chaucer School.
