Mister M
The ex minister and Conservative MP Tim Loughton is part of this scam too.
alchresearch
So you tell me Who did actually make May the Prime Minister?? Same with Who made Gordon Brown PM? But at the time it didn't seem like a bad thing as it got rid of Blair. I think that's the same with May, I certainly prefer her over any of the alternatives. Labour's problems are far more serious. Thank God they're in opposition and it doesn't affect us.
Berberis
Same with Who made Gordon Brown PM? Very different to be fair. Do you not recall the Granita Pact. Blair and Brown arranged so that one would hand power to the other. There was no hustings or any contest. You cannot say that about the current government. All the polls pointed to a remain win which would have left Cameron in power. The funny thing is, if Boris has sided with the Remain camp (he is attributed with a 2-3 point swing) he could have taken the leadership of the Try party in 2019 when Cameron would have stepped down. His actions mean he has lost his chance and will not be trusted by the party again. Not a single Labourphile seems to remember the Granita Pact or care about it. Odd how they don't care when its their own favour party.
Anna B
Last year people could pay £3 and then be allowed to vote and this year the price has gone up to £25. Are the annual Labour leadership elections being used as a means of generating funds for the Labour Party ? Nobody is forcing anyone to join. It's very small beer compared to the shenanigans that went on to finally deliver a 'fait accompli' where no-one got any choice as to who would be our current PM. So May, Gove, Leadsom, Crabb and Fox were nominated. The MPs in the party then vote with one MP per round eliminated, which is what happened, unless someone drops out the race themselves. When only two remain, all the members of the Conservative party can vote for a winner. As it happens, Leadsom dropped out so May won by default. Brown and McDonnell were nominated. McDonnell didn't have enough support to qualify so dropped out. Brown won by default without a single vote made by anyone. Differences on a postcard. Mister M
And Labour has never been happy that the Tories have bigger donators to the party, they're just trying to level the playing field and get some cash back in the coffers! But the Tories get their money from cheese and wine parties, & the bring and buy stall, surely.
melthebell
Nobody is forcing anyone to join. i believe its purely a cash cow, by ALL parties, if you are into that party you should be a member, NOT pay to join just as a vote is cast
