Annie Bynnol
800 000 Banns, Marriages and Burials added today to the Find my Past website. Searches partly free. "Covering: Roman Catholic parishes of Doncaster, St Peter in Chains, Knaresborough, St Mary, Rotherham, St Bede, Sheffield, St Marie Cathedral, Sheffield, St Vincent and Staveley and St Joseph"(sic). Annie Bynnol
That's fine but is it free? I gave a short answer which was "Searches partly free." The longer answer is: Searches on "Find My Past" and "Ancestry" are mostly free and can give enough information to suggest leads. Leads are free on "freeBMD", "Family Search"and other lists. Leads can be bought from Registry Offices. Leads can be found via Google. Leads can be found in other peoples Trees (beware there are far too many errors in them- do not trust or copy them). "Find My Past" and "Ancestry" are sometimes free at libraries. "Find My Past" and "Ancestry" sometimes have free weekends and are often heavily discounted.
