martin6
The construction industry has had negative growth for the past two quarters which means it's officially in recession. I would like to point out to the remainers who will no doubt blame this on brexit that the 1st quarter in question was well before the vote and the 2nd quarter was already 92% in before the vote on the 23rd June This was happening anyway Just saying

The Office for National Statistics said output dipped 0.7% in the second quarter of 2016, following a drop of 0.3% in the previous three months. The ONS said its latest figures included a short period after the 23 June referendum, but noted that there was “very little anecdotal evidence at present to suggest that the referendum has had an impact on output.” For June alone, construction output was down 0.9%, broadly in line with forecasts for a 1.0% drop. At the start of the year it was -0.3%, then as the run up and the vote is cast it drops to approx -0.7% and it's now at -0.9% Edited August 12, 2016 by Berberis

Guest
What a shame that Brexit has put the Kibosh on all that social house building that was going on all around that new Labour set in train. Oh wait.....
