I think some people are of the opinion that the police will try to trace the driver via his NI number..I suppose it's not out of the question but I'd be surprised if they did this.. Perhaps it could be used to trace back to a current employer, if they are being paid by PAYE, but surely the police have easier ways to find people... His phone number should result in a billing address for example... If the OP was paying him, then there will also be a bank account number and sort code...
