Xmas is not really all that Christian. Cromwell and the Roundheads abolished it, for a few years at least.

 

The celebration of the birth of Christ has nothing to do with Christianity? Okey dokes.

That bloke called Jesus has a lot to answer for.

Why? He was not a Christian but a Jew; and he did not invent Xmas- that came some centuries later.

Yes, in that Jesus of Nazareth was born- obviously- but not on 25 December, not in 0 AD, and not as a Messiah.

Hence not connected with Xmas.

In Xmas the X is actually the Greek letter Chi which is the first letter of the Greek word for Christ. Christ Mass....Christmas!

 

Ipso facto Christ is connected to Christmas.

So you prove yourself wrong, as his name was:

a. not Greek but Hebrew; and

b. not 'Christos', which refers to a/the Messiah. Being a Jew, he would certainly not have used that eponym.

 

Hence no connection with Xmas. QED.
