Eater Sundae
Didn't Ireland reject the Lisbon Treaty by referendum but vote in favour after it was changed? Can't see it happening with Brexit. We can't negotiate until Article 50 is triggered and we can't undo Article 50 once triggered. Or can we?? ---------- Post added 24-08-2016 at 12:59 ---------- Guess so. With the police on stand-by. That "Or can we?" Really needed a few chords of "suspense" music to go with it. Mods, can we please have a "Dah. Dah. Daaaaaah" emoji

Magilla
In principle. Wouldn't some feel aggrieved that effectively the referendum of 23rd June has been ignored? It hasn't been ignored it's been re-visited with more information. ---------- Post added 24-08-2016 at 13:46 ---------- Hence I'm cross. It's an excuse to rerun the referendum in the hope of getting the "right" answer. Not at all, it's a chance to have a say when the consequences (good or bad) become clear. Seems completely sensible to me.
Santo
It hasn't been ignored it's been re-visited with more information. Would everyone see it that way? How many times have you told someone the first wasn't legally binding, seen their bottom lip hit the floor and then watch them huff and puff that if The Establishment even DARES to ignore the DEMOCRACY of the PEOPLE they will! They will...they'll! Then they run out of steam. It's amusing. Edited August 24, 2016 by Santo

Then like most of us think, sod it, I'll have a cuppa and sort it another time.

Brian Equato
The people who voted for Brexit also voted for Mrs Browns Boys as comedy of the century... need I say more? They voted for an Irish transvestite as their favourite comedian, shows all that stuff about being racist and intolerant was a load of rubbish doesn't it. Racists don't have the cognitive ability to be racist to multiple ethnic groups at once. Kinda like an elderly person eating peas. Magilla
Right. Let's keep voting until we vote to stay in, then stop. No thanks. That almost sounds like you have a feeling the terms negotiated are going to be far worse than we have already. It seems like what you're really saying is that you're all for democracy, as long as it goes your way?
