It's quite difficult to defend the undefendable. She is in a job way way over her pay grade. Doubtful if Tesco would give her a job on one of its tills.

Angel.

which is why ,with a front line of Corbyn, Mcdonnell and Abbott , the Labour party has become nothing but a joke

not only did she not know the figures but she also tried to say that it would or wouldnt be? maybe? - could be paid for by the reversing of the corporation tax changes made by the conservatives.....isnt that a little bit like the 350 million we might or might give to the nhs or might or might not save by leaving europe ??

i would think that a figure of around £400 million would be more reasonable.

This is based on a ball park figure of £40,000 for each policeman or woman. So 10,000 police would amount to about the figure above.

The £40,000 would include administrative and equipment costs of various kinds, as well as the salaries.

Over 4 years?

The wages bill is over a billion..... not 300 mil

To be fair, despite Abbotts disaster this morning the Labour costings are quite detailed.

Your figure of £1bn is in the right ballpark as I remember.

Jeremy Corbyn has said the correct figure is £300million. Where did you read the £1billion figure?

On the radio just now. The costings that Abbott should have been making public were £800m over 4 years. Corbyn as I understand it was talking about first year costs.

The Labour haven't a cat in hells chance of being elected, Abbott has today done the impossible and made them even less electable.

She got the figures wrong in a live interview, and had a bit of a brain freeze.

She's not the first politician to do that, and she won't be the last.

Let's not get it all out of proportion.

Oh come on Anna. If Osborne had done that you would have gone to town on him and been carping on about it for weeks.
