You can beat someone into a coma on a saturday night or steal £50,000 from a benefits scam and not get a prison sentence.

Whip your trousers off and its 20 weeks in prison. WTF

And drug dealers and people caught in possession of drugs are given a slap on the wrist and sent on their way.

Our Law is an Ass

Crimewatch...how many of the scum on here are bailed and failed to appear at court,2 for sexual abuse, why let them out?:loopy:

Also another who was let out early and failed to keep to his conditions but must not be approached as considered dangerous, whats he doing out?:loopy:

The law is an ass.

Perhaps he refused to show remorse and also acted the ass in court?

Very likely.

The article mentioned it happened 13th and sentence was within a week.

Still don't think we have all the info we need to understand why such a big sentence so quickly.

Edit: when searching his name online nothing comes up, the online article has been very poorly written without explaining what really happened on the crime scene or in court, it all looks a bit dodgy to me.

Im not saying that he shouldn't have gone to prison but the courts are just so inconsistent.

I like to watch programs like Police Interceptors and some very serious crimes are usually dealt with suspended sentences and community service.

Sometimes you wonder if judges have a mandate from the government to keep prison numbers down.

Judges are well aware that prison is like a training camp for criminals. It doesn't reduce criminality, it increases it, whilst also providing a broad range of training in new criminal skills and making it more likely that further crimes will be committed.

Judges SHOULD be trying to keep prison numbers down, which makes you wonder why a guy who was "only" outraging public decency has been given 20 weeks... Most likely he mouthed off in court and refused to show any understanding or contrition for his actions.

Either way, we're definitely not getting the entire story here.

I seriously question the quality of that article from the star, give it 10%.

Very eager to brag about the sentence but no reporting whatsoever to explain it any further. In the Netherlands such reporting is not publicly supported. In England people love it.

But Prison is also there to take people out of society.

Its very frustrating when petty criminals get released on bail just to go out and commit more crimes.

There are just some people especially burglars who are a cancer on our communities. These people should lose their freedoms.
