pattricia
Do you not have a bin washer man around your area. We get our bin cleaned once a month with a bloke in a white van and a jet wash. Also make sure you tie up your bin bags tightly. We do have one but haven't seen him lately. How much does he charge ? Alcoblog
I just give my bin a good blast of Raid (S.C. Johnson … a family firm since 1886). So efficacious, it even kills the rubbish.
Mr Bloke
@pattricia. I think its about a fiver or so. Its not much. Not much? A fiver? We're not made of money in Sheffield you know! Why not put an ad on here and maybe some friendly fisherperson will come and collect them for free?
Chelle-82
He needs to empty his bin and re-bag everthing, clean it out with boiling water and bleach to kill the maggots.. He needs to make sure he's tying his bags properly and make sure his bin lid isnt left open on hot days.. A bin clean after everytime it's empited is also recommended.. I had them last year, it was GROSS I've taken to spraying inside my bin with fly killer too, not had an issue this year. ---------- Post added 20-09-2016 at 09:30 ---------- Despite what others say on here, they're little binmen foetusii Pat. They have a two week gesticulation in the black incubation capsule-pods before sprouting arms and legs and becoming full blown refuse operatives. Don't Jeyes 'em … they'll come back and haunt you! Hahaha made me chuckle this
Glennis
Many people keep their bins clean and use bin bags, the flies can only lay eggs if the can get at the food waste. I was just going to suggest he wraps his food up - it's disgusting throwing food in a bin like that:gag:

Berberis
My neighbours black council refuse bin is covered inside with little white maggots. Hes tried spraying them with disinfectant and fly spray but they always come back. Is it the hot weather and has anyone else had them ? If so how did you get rid of them ? He should bag up his rubbish before throwing it in the wheelie bin.
