Would you say that's the same as Yorkshah? I say Yorkshah.

 

:hihi: I've had to repeat it in my head a few times. To type the accent in is not too easy when you have to think.

 

Yorksher Yorksha - either or....definitely no sheer or shire.

 

Absolutely is one that grates me :rant: Why do people say 'apsolutely'?? There is NO P anywhere in absolutely :loopy:

When I went to uni everybody took the mickey out of my Sheffield accent, impersonating me and making fun. That stopped in the second year, over the summer holidays they had all gone home and been told they were picking up a Yorkshire accent.

I did a speech recently, obviously I put a bit of effort in to pronounce

words correctly and get the grammar right (most of us lapse a bit in everyday chat).

When I saw/heard recordings of myself I was shocked how many H's I dropped

and even worse how many T's had been left out. That's a true northerner I suppose.
