Charlie McG
I am a history lecturer at Teesside University who is currently organising an oral history project, which aims to collect testimonies from workers who took part in the 1980 national steelworkers' strike. This strike lasted three months and involved over 100,000 workers, including over 20,000 from South Yorkshire. It was--at the time--the biggest industrial dispute Britain had witnessed since the General Strike of 1926 and remains one of the most important events in modern Labour movement history. If anyone would like to take part in this project, or if you simply want more information about it, please contact me. Charlie
