What an era the 60s was, no massive influx of drugs, no cheap booze from supermarkets, plenty of employment..

Fast forward to 2019, drugs in plentiful supply, cheap booze in every corner shop.. It's a rat race now, survival of the fittest and the weak go to the wall, hence the rise in homeliness . I'm alright Jack, and sod everyone else.

Ahh the good old 60s...

people living in slums, Vietnam War, Cuban Missile Crisis.  What’s not to like.

In another 60 years the houses what we are living in now will be slums, plus, the  Vietnam War and Cuban Missile Crisis, we was not directly involved with, not like the wars that our men have died in the last 10-15 years. and still fighting,

anyone that was a teenager in the 60s has had AND still having the best time in history to be alive, not like the poor sods know.

Rose tinted again - there were almost as many British soldiers killed in the 60s alone than there have been in the last 20 years.

I don’t doubt people had a good time - no point pretending it was some utopian time though cos it absolutely wasn’t.

Certainly no beggars, homeless, and druggies on the streets, and shops didn't have shutters on them, also you could buy a packet of fags from machines dotted about, and bubble gum. imagine that today.

Wrong again I’m afraid - pretty much every initiative we currently have in the country to deal with homelessness was set up as consequence of the homelessness in the 60’s.

My Bold

What is the definition of homelessness in bold, i dont recollect people begging and sleeping in doorways as is know, not to mention being accosted by drunken beggars.

Well you probably wouldn’t it was 60 years ago.

Anyway - the only point I’m trying to make is it’s easy to just look for the bad in modern society - but there’s always been bad - just in different ways.

just for the record, i am old enough to be well aware of what was going on in the sixties  i was right in the thick of it. it was the best time in my life without a doubt, and there is nothing wrong with my memory.
