Can you prove that ?

They would probably have hassled you whether we gave them money  or not,  assuming they did anyway and you're not just making it up.

Other peoples money is theirs and no business of yours what they do with it.

You are quite happy to spend money in pubs which turns out drunks who vomit on the pavements.

Tell me whether that's anything to do with me.

What exactly is your problem with people who drink and pubs ? Every poster who disagrees with you is accused of drinking/ spending too much time in the pub . Are you keeping something secret?

People are NOT stopping giving money to them.  They obviously have much more care and humanity in them than you..

Looks very much as if you've  drawn a blank with telling people what to do with their own money.

If those people are such a problem as you say, you should be shouting for the police force to do something about it instead of trying to lay down the law to ordinary caring people.

People will support any act they feel like supporting without your say so.         In the meantime,  try calling for a law abiding Sheffield as It very much used to be.

You are part of the problem. You are partly to blame for the state our city centre is in.

I agree with Irene. I've never given a penny piece to any of the scrounging lowlifes and yes it does put me off visiting the city centre.  Fortuitously I can get everything I need either online or from Tesco on Savile Street.  Fairly easy to blank/ignore anyone begging around the store entrances there.

Its impossible to prove where beggars money is actually spent. However, I do believe almost all beggars are begging for drugs.  I'm not judging them, but whilst ever you are facilitating an addiction there is little motive to seek help and get clean.

Do you know about the person who very sadly died outside Poundland because they refused to go to hospital because they wanted to beg instead to fund their drug habit?

No doubt the people that gave that person money thought they were being caring and humane.
No one chooses a lifestyle of begging and addiction and there are complex reasons why they end up there.  If you want to help give to a relevant charity.  If you choose to hand over cash directly to beggars instead you are part of the problem.

You do what you choose and we'll do what we choose.   That's what living in a free society means.
