Was Lily Allen right or wrong?

Recommended Posts

Strawman.

How is it? You said you don't get to say what you want. She clearly just did.

You calling it a straw man is the straw man.

Do you think she will be prosecuted or not?

You don't get to say whatever you like though. You never have done.

That's not really true so my asking if you thusly expect prosecution is fair.

:hihi:

Indeed!

But I think people are more annoyed by the fact that she seems deluded enough to think that her 'popularity' through the ability to co-write a few catchy pop songs also qualifies her to speak on everyone's behalf...

Yes I get that. But she doesn't speak on everyone's behalf. Her saying she does doesn't make it so.

So basically because you cannot defend your comments you decide that a strawman and ad hominem is the way to proceed?

You lose. Sorry about that.

What comment can I not defend? What ad hominem? What a thoroughly bizarre comment.

Do you expect her to be prosecuted?

What have I lost? What have you won? Did you get a prize?

You think I'm pretentious enough to think any of this matters?

I'd like to apologise on behalf of Santo, for the drivel posted.

Why? You must confuse me with someone who is rich and famous.

I'm not so I am allowed to express an opinion. Lily Allen apparently isn't. Not that it stops her.

Ah, but you aren't famous. Now agree with the rest of the group and rant against lily Allen. Rant I say! (Waving the daily express in righteous indignation is optional.)

On Daily Politics a Labour woman said many of the children have parents already here, and should be let in. (similar on) QT last week, another was calling for ALL the children to be let in.

Obviously using children is a good emotional argument.

But there seems to be an obvious flaw in this idea.
