maggidee Posted October 16, 2016 Share Posted October 16, 2016 just finished reading it, and i didnt know he helped hospital radio years ago when it was at lodge moor as northern radio, what a nice book what a nice man ,it made me a bit sad in places but made me chuckle in others, so come on every body , facebook twitter email this to every one in your email address book,and if anyone has a contact for look north and calendar he needs to be on better still what about a programme of his story on tv that way he will be well on his way to his target. well done john and if you see him on his travels stop your car and donate get a photo and lets spread the word for this hero and if anyone knows the queen on here its time he was sir john Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

bassett one Posted October 17, 2016 Share Posted October 17, 2016 I will get the book for Christmas,talking to the top man the other day in town,he opens our lowedges festival each year as most of you will know,ive come up with a great idea that you will all like if it can be organised,a calendar of his visits each month,showing Sheffield through the seasons and Christmas cards with him on,what do the people think to this idea and can it be done,after that a knighthood for this great man we love so much. Will go and get mine from Waterstones Just looked on amazon and they want 2.99 p&p would rather give that to John Personally next time I see him. Does anyone know how much John as actually raised ? Am not in to organising events etc and its probably not what John wants but can we not have a mass sponsored walk to help him get there ?? Has he been given a star outside the town hall yet if not he should have and be given the freedom of Sheffield too.
