yellowperil
Are mps allowed to advertise things on tv? As i understand it Tracy Brabin is tipped to be Jo Coxs replacement. Ive just seen a advertisement on tv featuring her for sun life insurance! Is this allowed? I thought it may be a conflict of interests to advertise financial services as an mp? Obelix
She's not yet an MP though? I think the by election is tomorrow.

As Obelix has pointed out she is NOT an MP yet. If you see the adverts after she becomes elected, then I suggest you contact the parliamentary standards committee and make a complaint. yellowperil
I have no complaint to make. I just thought it wasnt allowed and thought someone could clarify. I guess we will see.
Gamston
I have no complaint to make. I just thought it wasnt allowed and thought someone could clarify. I guess we will see. I can't see a problem in the adverts still being shown after she is elected. I doubt very much the lady intends to continue her career as an actress or advertising work. yellowperil
I was just wondering if it was allowed for mps to advertise financial services for private companies for gain. Id be very surprised if it was. Thought someone may know.
Zinger549
I assume if she does become an MP then she wil have to stop doing the adverts. It will all depend on the result of the by-election.
