El Cid
Italian PM resigns following referendum defeat http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-38204189 And did our referendum start all this EU instability? With Trump upsetting China, an organisation that helps to keep the peace is sounding worthwhile.
tzijlstra
Just to clarify - the Italian referendum is nothing to do with the EU. Renzi was just as silly as Cameron to tie his political future to a referendum outcome in a time of unstable political direction. In contrast the Austrian election has - it was a clear anti-immigration/pro-EU vault line and pro-EU won against expectations.

I1L2T3
The problem with that is we never had any influence to start with. The main problem with the EU is its inflexibility to adapt, and a "one size fits all" approach. That's not true though is it. One of the biggest proponents of the single market was the UK under the leadership of Thatcher. We sgred with practically all the legislation made by the EU and have a massive role in making that legislation. You're basically just lazily trotting out another EU myth. Justin Smith
Before we get Brexiteers coming on here trumpeting the Sleaford & North Hykeham by election result I think we should remember : The Tories vote share went down (56% to 53%) UKIP`s vote share went down (16% to 13%) Labour`s vote share went down (17% to 10%) The LibDems vote share went up, in fact it nearly doubled (6% to 11%) Edited December 9, 2016 by Justin Smith

Gamston
Before we get Brexiteers coming on here trumpeting the Sleaford & North Hykeham by election result I think we should remember : The Tories vote share went down (56% to 53%) UKIP`s vote share went down (16% to 13%) Labour`s vote share went down (17% to 10%) The LibDems vote share went up, in fact it nearly doubled (6% to 11%) Why would Brexiiteers be trumpeting a by election result ? The decision to leave the EU, was decided on 23rd June. A fall from 56% to 53% for any ruling party in a by election is good result.
