The Consequences of Brexit (part 2)

Recommended Posts

We do have a shortage of workers in the current setup. Very few long-term unemployed.

How do you judge that we have a shortage of workers?

We have record immigration, immigrants from around the world, how can we have a shortage.

Long term unemployment is a symptom of our benefit system.

The public will not except it, what will they do?

Blame immigration.

Or possibly the Conservatives. Post Brexit Britain was supposed to be the land of milk and honey so it must be their fault if it doesn't come about.

Ah, so the penny is finally beginning to drop with the voters, then?

Turkeys taking notice of the tinsel and carols? :hihi:

Really can't wait to see how bad this car crash goes. Fascinating ain't quite the word. :D

"Open Britain’s poll also suggests that the prolonged period of uncertainty since the 23 June referendum has chipped away at the pro-Brexit majority. If a rerun of the vote were held tomorrow, remain and leave would be tied at 44% each, with 5% not voting at all and 7% undecided."

C'mon you all you bleavers, spin that one...

Remind us all how accurate the opinion polls were a few days before we voted on 23rd June 2016.

It's just that posters theory. We should have all the people here already to do most jobs, which need doing.

They must've written this list for a laugh then eh?

http://www.visabureau.com/uk/shortage-occupations-list.aspx

And the other end of the spectrum,

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2016/jul/20/brexit-farm-labour-shortages-fruit-vegetable-harvests-national-farmers-union

And

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/migrant-workers-could-solve-uks-crippling-shortage-of-care-workers-report-says-a6737141.html

Capitalism demands labour, that much is true and if you have social obligations because you happen to be in charge of a well developed, modern and socially orentaited country your going to require some pariahs also. If only to ensure the blame is directed where it's needed. All so you can really go to town on making sure your taxes go into the perfect private storm.

For the greater good of course, now take this next cut and be thankful.

I don't mind being a little poorer, I voted leave and would vote leave again.

Nobody questioned me for any poll so I would take it with a pinch of salt.

You remoaners need to quit moaning. (If you start name calling by calling us bleavers then expect the same back)

We have a low unemployment rate, and low rate of long-term unemployment.

There is little slackness in our Labour force, on paper anyway.
