The Consequences of Brexit (part 2)

Recommended Posts

The UK already has a seat at the WTO. It is merely vacant due to our EU membership. Nobody has the authority to deny it to us.

I can only repeat the information that a few minutes googling will find you that, some correspondents believe the UK will have to go through the formal joining process which requires unanimity rather than sitting in a dusty, empty seat which has always been there.

Time will tell which of the competing assertions are correct.

Regardless of this, a far more important thing is the negotiation of the various schedules we need to be a full member, this will take years. At the same time, the EU will have to renegotiate it's schedules to take into account our departure.

I don't have to google anything. We're a member. Your correspondents are simply wrong.

I'd be interested to know that too. As said newspapers are clearly so profoundly dishonest and biased that they lack all credibility on this matter.

You do mean ALL newspapers don't you?

In other news our ambassador and chief negotiator to the eu has resigned. Anybody want to bet against farage throwing his hat in the ring?

He was a remainer who did this as a delaying tactic......

He'll be a sad loss, the one who said it would take ten years to negotiate a trade deal. It's just surprising that he could make a decision to resign this quick, and he's got the energy to resign.

Ambassadors are supposed to give governments their best information not tell them what they want to hear. After his pointing out some uncomfortable truths to the government he's obviously been eased out of the door.

How do you work out it's a delaying tactic? We are months away from the negotiations starting - if he'd wanted to cause a delay he'd have waited until just before they were about to start.
