melthebell
He was a remainer who did this as a delaying tactic...... what i read was he was getting all the hate from hardline brexiteers after stating the amount of grief he was getting from EU member states, sounds like he was piggy in the middle poor lad. So he speaks to EU member states and comes back and says it could take 10 years of negotions. Harline brexiteers sneer at him and say it can be done in 2. if hes the one talking to the member states surely he knows how stubborn theyre actually going to be? and yet more guesswork on the part of the brexiters

One of the very few people at top of Brit government who understands [the] EU.” Why would his resignation make that much difference? someone else will get his job who wants the UK to get the best deal not someone who wanted to stay in the eu,so he should have resigned the same day as Cameron. Well, according to the quote,it looks like 'the best deal' might depend on finding someone for the job that understands the EU,and reading into the quote, there are very few people in that bracket at the top of the British government............Farage would do for me. All this guy has done is tell the UK government what the EU has been telling him, about the length of time possible for trade deals.........the UK government has turned on the messenger and he's had enough.
