tinfoilhat
I think the main negotiations will take place behind closed doors and Germany will presuade the rest of the EU, to accept what the UK, France and Germany want. ---------- Post added 04-01-2017 at 19:14 ---------- No worries if you think the Maltese Prime Minister is supporting the UK, but he is on record as saying the UK will not have a better relationship with the EU after we leave the EU. The UK should be seeking continued tariff free trading with the EU and still be free to negotiate our own trade agreements with the rest of the World. Australia are one of those counties, which the UK will be free to make our own trade arrangements with, when we completely leave the EU. Austrailia you say? With its tiny population and vastly increased delivery costs? We're saved!!!!!
hush
Would you? I've already stopped buying wine from EU members and now buy it all from Australia, New Zealand, Chile, USA, Moldova and South Africa. ---------- Post added 04-01-2017 at 19:20 ---------- Austrailia you say? El Cid
Austrailia you say? With its tiny population and vastly increased delivery costs? We're saved!!!!! The UK joining the EU had no impact on Australia's export trade, so the UK leaving the EU is likely to have little effect. Australia's biggest export country is China, its close neighbour; the UK get less then 2% of Australia's exports.

Hairyloon
Our government will be more accountable... Why do you think that? Everything that goes wrong for the next 30 years will be blamed on Brexit and the Government won't be held to account at all.
Jeffrey Shaw
Why do you think that? Everything that goes wrong for the next 30 years will be blamed on Brexit and the Government won't be held to account at all. You seem to accept the 'post hoc propter hoc' concept- i.e. that 'after this [happens], [everything that happens is] because of this [having happened]'. Ever realised that it's rarely possible to say what would have happened in a theoretical alternative situation?
