The Consequences of Brexit (part 2)

Recommended Posts

Well summed up.

There seem to be a few people still determined to follow in the footsteps of Comical Ali. :suspect:

Comical Ali is a good analogy.

The latest ICM poll (out today) shows a clear majority against a second referendum and also that a clear majority support the PM's Brexit strategy.

In two years' time, no doubt Tim Farron will still be calling for another referendum and also for the UK to stay within the SEM and customs union. Perhaps the most delusional of all is Nicola Sturgeon, who seems to think that Scotland can somehow stay in the SEM following Brexit.

But we all know that polls can't be trusted...

Traitors, cheats and liars, all of them, they should be taken out and hanged!!!

(To paraphrase one of the posters here)

The Brexit Blockers will no doubt be relentless in attempting to scupper a meaningful exit from the EU at every turn. They will never be satisfied, regardless of what concessions are given to them.

They demanded a vote before Article 50 was triggered - they will get it; they demanded a White Paper before Article 50 was triggered- they will get it. No doubt they are thinking up other demands too.

At some point, a strategy of repeated concessions ceases to be deft political manoeuvring and transmutes into appeasement.

And look where that leads when you are dealing with fascists.

Well, since logic dictates (and history confirms) that the stronger side rarely -if ever- appeases the weaker side...

...are you therefore suggesting that Remainers hold -or are gaining- the balance of power over Leavers, then?
