autumn
Has anyone managed to get a reasonably good quality double mattress into the attic of a terraced house via the stairs ? I've looked at a cheaper one which would bend but they are only for occasion use ! Thank you .

If you fold it over enough to get it into your loft, you'll [expletive deleted] it so you may as well set it on fire. Sorry, but I don't think there's a mattress you can get that doesn't suck, but folds. Air bed maybe?
ianparkin
I got one upstairs where i had to bend the mattress at 90 degrees to do it but I wouldn't bend one back onto itself

Sidonica
Do they remember how to get upstairs by themselves? If only, seriously though, I bought one for our loft bedroom. They are rolled up and I could get it up 2 flights of stairs by myself. It wasn't an expensive one and everyone says it is very comfortable. tzijlstra
European mattresses are very different and, in my opinion, still comfortable (although obviously not as comfortable as a full on boxspring). There is a famous blue and yellow store that sells these in bulk
GerryBooth
You can buy matresses rolled up tight. The problem is when you want to take it out.
tzijlstra
You can buy matresses rolled up tight. The problem is when you want to take it out. That is actually easier than it sounds - you use rope or belts to keep them together once you rolled them up.
