Montrose links?

Hi all - does anyone know whether there is a historic link to Montrose in Sheffield?

 

The Montrose Cutlery Works opened near Bramall Lane in the 1870s (there is still a workshop there today)

 

Montrose FC played in the city during the early 1890s - based at Millhouses

 

And Montrose Road was built in Carter Knowle (near Millhouses) in the early 1920s.

 

Any ideas?

Montrose FC, aren't they from the south east side of Scotland ,that part that Edinburgh and Dundee are in ?

The late Peter Harvey, in his book "Street Names of Sheffield" states that the name of Montrose Road is "linked with the Murray family, Dukes of Atholl" (hence Blair Athol Road, S11) and "the somewhat convoluted history of Banner Cross Hall". Here are scans of the relevant sections.
