Robin-H
Of course you are; but to what end? The removal of the trees on Rustling Road have made the national news, it being reported on both the BBC and ITV news, as well as in many newspapers and radio programmes. The methods by which the felling occurred have been widely condemned, and there is currently ongoing legal action with the people that were arrested. There is a large campaign to spread awareness of the tactics employed by the council on streets that are about to have their trees felled, such as the WWI memorial trees on Western Road. I would have thought that a discussion about this would have been welcomed on this forum. I understand that not everybody appreciates street trees, but for those who do, I do not see why there shouldn't be a place for discussion. WarPig
Re the WW1 memories trees on Western Rd. It would be nice if cuttings or seeds could be taken before they are felled, then these saplings could be replanted as replacement memorial trees. But the trees have already been removed in a fait accompli- so ongoing discussion achieves not a lot, in my opinion.

On Rustling Road. There are thousands more trees just like them in Sheffield that are about to be felled.
dazza6069
Would there be such uproar if this occurred on a council estate, I suggest not

dazza6069
No Robin I'm not, read the post correctly. Rustling Rd is apparently an affluent area so people are up in arms, would the same people be up in arms if say Southey Green Rd had trees felled
