Petminder
On the green energy front again: Would you back a grass fed Biogas plant as an alternative to Fracking. See below. http://socsi.in/8yTb7 It wouldn't supply the same amount of gas that fracking can potentialy supply. But we could meet all our gas needs if we used all our farmland to grow grass, but then what would we eat.
Margarita Ma
The video claims 5000 acres per plant of Marginal grassland and says also about one acre of land produces enough for one household.
hobinfoot
I think we should go totally nuclear then we wouldn't have to worry about our energy needs.
Obelix
The video claims 5000 acres per plant of Marginal grassland and says also about one acre of land produces enough for one household. It sounds woefully inefficient then. You could way way more than that by only covering fraction of the land with solar panels for example. ---------- Post added 21-11-2016 at 13:25 ---------- I think we should go totally nuclear then we wouldn't have to worry about our energy needs. One indelicate point is where do you get the uranium from? Unless we mine Orkney and Cornwall out of existence it'll bite us fairly soon - certainly before we can get Gen IV full cycle plants up. Also we'd have to found room for about a hundred new nuclear plants. That could be tricky.
