Food prices up, what have you bought that has increased in price?

Recommended Posts

Warbutons medium loaf £1.05 at Tesco express Frecheville, £1 at Tesco Savile St, guess Frecheville for Brexit but and Wicker/Pitsmoor didn't and now Frecheville is paying the price.

"express" convenience stores have always been higher price than the larger hypermarket stores even within the same company.

Its the same reason why you will also see advert small print saying that price matching / big sale offers etc ***not available in express, fuel or ROI stores*** etc etc.

Here are some of the prices here in Perth Australia.

I shop at Spudshed Kelmscott - a very cheap supermarket / market. Prices are 10-20 percent lower than average.

Apples - 3 dollars a kilo

Oranges - 2 dollars a kilo

Grapefruit - 2 dollars a kilo

Ginger - 15 dollars a kilo

Broccoli - 2 for a dollar

Kiwi fruit - 8 for 2 dollars

Lettuce - 80 cents.

Potato - 3kilos for 3 dollars.

Tin of Heinz soup - 1-29

1kg yogurt - 4 dollars

Rye bread 680g - 3 dollars

Chocolate almonds - 12-99 kilo

Aw bless.

If you can't afford the extra 5p, cheaper loaves are available.

We'll it was actually a Brexit joke, however the price of bread at the express store was until recently the same as the price at the hypermarket, it went up, however it's all good as I travel the extra half mile to Asda now where it's still a £1.
