Happy Daddy
Maybe legal action, hopefully not but I need to make Rotherham hospital do their job. My son has been in constant pain for 7 weeks, dropped almost 2 stone in weight ans has not kept a meal down for over a month. The hospital have run some tests then sent him home with instructions to go back to the GP. My son was in so much pain he had to go back, was made to wait a total of 13 hours in the waiting room then sent back home. We went back again and we demanded they do something so they admitted him, sent him home after one night with super strength painkillers that simply do not touch the pain (we are talking morphine here) and now we are having to take him back to the A and E as the pain is getting worse and worse. I need to hospital to do their job and find out what is going on. How can I make them?

tinfoilhat
It might be worth contacting their Patient advice and liaison service But bear in mind their reason for existing is to cover the hospitals back, not to help patients. Theyll listen but thats about it.
Obelix
Have you taken him to the GP? An emergency dept will treat the symptoms and get him stable but if he needs a referral to a specialist then the route is via the GP.

By ambulance ---------- Post added 28-11-2016 at 12:46 ---------- Have you taken him to the GP? An emergency dept will treat the symptoms and get him stable but if he needs a referral to a specialist then the route is via the GP. The GP has referred him to tests, however these are in 6 weeks time. He needs them now but apparently the GP is unable to hurry the process up or prescribe anything strong enough to tackle the pain ---------- Post added 28-11-2016 at 12:46 ---------- If your son is under 16 take him to Sheffield Children's Hospital He is
dangerousedd
if he wasn't in such a bad way id suggest changing gp surgeries, but maybe your present gp might be more receptive now your sons been to a&e. you could allways call your gp and ask for an home visit if you think your son is really ill. I know the gps in sheffield can refer you to the northern general hospital amu unit for immediate admission, must be something similar in rotherham.
