Brocklebank lorries slow down

Recommended Posts

Brocklebank truck drivers seem to inhabit a world of their own, seemingly oblivious to signage relating to HGVs.

Recently they had a contract to remove 400 loads of top soil from a site in Dore, apparently requiring 7 of their largest trucks. Despite there being signs to advise that Twentywell Lane is unsuitable for HGVs most drivers went that way in both directions. It's a steep road, with blind bends and drives opening off it, with shops and parked cars at the top, and busy junctions at both ends. Emails to Brocklebanks went unanswered.

Was their action legal? Yes. Was it desirable? No. Were they polite and helpful when asked to use another route? No they never even replied.

Since that fleet of trucks has seemingly stopped coming that way - the contract probably finished - Brocklebank vehicles have been observed travelling along Bradway Road and onwards around Tinkers Corner into Derbyshire, towards Holmesfield. That route is subject to a total ban on HGVs, so they could be fined for that if anyone wished to prepare the evidence to do so.

They may not be driven in excess of the speed limits, but their size and weight makes them lethal weapons in any accident.

Sorry think you will find its actually max 7.5 ton except for access. So any vehicle can legally enter if they have business there.
