Cost of postage stamps

Recommended Posts

Has anyone else noticed this, I went into my local supermarket and wanted 4 second class stamps, so thinking they always try to sell me a book of 6 I asked at the counter and was told "we only sell books of 12 or 4", "ok, I'll have a book of 4 second class", getfing my £2.20 out she then said "£3 please", how come I said should be £2.20!, "Cos they're bigger, "sorry?!", the stamps are bigger".paying up I thought nice little. earner for the PO, Ok I know I could have got 6 and first class, but maybe these would be bigger too!

Dunno, I won't buy the books a waste of resources. They all come on a peel off backing these days.

Yes bodie I don`t understand what Margarita means either:huh: What is the difference between the paper that the books are made from and the paper that the sheets of stamps are made of. They all have to be peeled off. Gone are the days when you had to lick the back of the Queens head.

There's a lot more used in a book than in the backing sheet.
