Is it possible that too few police exist to deal with the degenerates who sit smoking cannabis and threatening passersby all day. Always been a seedy hole there but now it resembles some horrible place full of unsavoury characters. Violence is very common.

 

They had nowhere else to go when they shut The Cannon .

Yet another example of someone who walks around with their eyes shut and never looks upwards and beyond the betting shop facade.

There are some beautiful old buildings in Fitzalan Square and ones we should be proud of and treasure.

I visited the old GPO building on Saturday and would like to thank and congratulate Sheffield Hallam University for the continuing renovation and work on this wonderful building.

A quick lick of paint/new windows would improve the extorior of most of these buildings, but neither council or the tenants/owners care enough to do so.

That last paragraph sums it up perfectly, the buildings themselves are fine, but they seem to get left to gather dirt and grime over the years and nobody seems to care about cleaning them up, I suppose it wouldn't generate anymore money so why should the council care

I have been to many places in the U.K. and indeed the world and have yet to come across a town or city that isn't proud of it's square or squares. Even London glorifies them (and why not !).

Fitzalan Square is not really a 'square' as there are properties on only three sides. The High Street side doesn't count and even the old Post Office site takes up one side of it's own. I have been to many places in the U.K. and indeed the world and have yet to come across a town or city that isn't proud of it's square or squares. Even London glorifies them (and why not !).

 

Trafalgar Square only has 3 sides too and Piccadilly Circus has no clowns or trapeze acts
