Where can I buy a Vintage Light Bulb?

Recommended Posts

I knew there was one there but I thought it was a Tesco..... mmm not been down that way for ages.

You've not missed much ;)

Homebase do a decent selection of light bulbs, you can get a few vintage looking ones that are LED too, Morrisons do too.

There's always maplins but I've quality issues with some of their stuff.

Easy to make yourself using clear (though not necessarily!) glass Christmas tree baubles, resistance wire (snaffle a bar from granny's electric radiator, she'll never know) and car body filler.

Didn't you once nick your grannies washing line clothes prop and relocate to Stanedge.

No, that was her telegraph pole. Smoke signals are her major form of communications now, which, to be fair, is pretty tricky with cataracts in both eyes. Bless. ;)

Found a small electrical show down the road in Nethegreen that had a couple of really nice ones in stock. Went for a slightly taller bulb. Filament looks lovely glowing away.

Does not provide a whole lot of light (peter Kay put big light on) but we're dressing the room with more smaller lights to create a warm cosey feeling and this is certainly a step nearer.
