But ultimately untrue. It was the wording which prevented the condemnation being passed the first time as it appeared to condemn all Islam rather than just extremists.

Neither article says the motion was voted down because it appeared to condemn all Islam - I don't think that could have been inferred from the wording of the motion, which stated this is was to 'condemn the Islamic State' whilst also condemning 'US military intervention'.

 

Both articles say that the motion was voted down due to fears that it was 'pro-interventionist'.

 

The Huffington Post article blames the Independent for biased reporting, however the Huffington Post article doesn't say anything that the Independent article didn't. The Independent clearly explained why people felt the motion should be voted against, giving direct quotes. I sometimes think people don't read beyond the headlines.
