Give way road markings at junctions

Does anyone happen to know what year these were first introduced?

During the 30s white lines were used as “stop” lines, at junctions and the traffic flow was controlled by police or traffic lights at these intersections on the road network.

Yeah, I researched that but wondered what specific year the actual junction lines we use now was introduced.

One for the oldies on the forum I can remember them in the early 50s, when I was a child. I remember asking what they were for.

I'm so old I can remember the word HALT on the junctions.

It rained during the morning, but cleared about 10 am and was fine for the rest of the day, but it was a little misty from about 11 03 pm. It was also a full moon that night.

Ooooh Yes,

That one had slipped my mind. I think it was changed in the 1960s or early 70s. I remember seeing things gradually change to be more like the European road signs and they were easier to see at a distance.
