Dales
Like who? What "things"? Honours are not just simply about that. You were the one who created this faux criteria. Your personal definition of what you deem "..doing something amazing..." is quite frankly irrelevant. YOU are not the one making the decision. Just because YOU dont think that people like some hard working dedicated sportsperson who represented the nation or some long serving and popular entertainers dont deserve an award does not mean that others think they do. The list is extensive and varied. Their honours should be just as deserved as anyone else. I have no idea why you waste your time on here. You have genuine common sense and a rational way of thinking.
ANGELFIRE1
Like who? Genuinely interested... I also disagree with anyone getting a gong simply for doing their job no matter how well. Ultimately athletics was her job and yes she is extraordinarily good at it but regardless of that she has not, IMO, done anything else deserving of her Dameship. Neither has Andy Murray or frankly hardly any of the names on the list. The only ones I agree with at all are those who have done vast amounts of charity work. Nothing against Jess, she's a legend and deserves all the praise she gets but I don't agree with sportsmen/women getting titles simply for doing their sports. I agree with the above 100%. As an aside their is a guy in my sport, granted it's not football, but clay target shooting who has won 26 world titles (13 Sporting, 11 Fitasc and 2 Compak), 19 European titles (15 Fitasc and 4 Compak), 4 European Compak titles, and 12 world cups. 26 WORLD titles, any one know of another sports man that is any where even close to that, leaving aside 19 European Titles and 12 world cups. Maybe the above guy will be awarded a Knighthood next year, but I will not hold my breath. Imagine if Mr Hamilton had won the F1 world title 26 times if you will. Angel1. tzijlstra
I think there is a lot of so called ordinary people deserve the award before Jess and others who make a lot of money doing what they love. Considering the total list was 1600+ (out of memory) it strikes me that those so called ordinary people also made it on the list. I think it is brilliant, she is an inspiring figure for young women and deserves the pedestal she has.

Dan_Ashcroft
Certainly could have done more to save Don Valley. Shame she didnt use her talents on something useful Have you seen what is replacing Don Valley? It will be far more impressive and useful than that crumbling concrete tomb ever was http://olympiclegacypark.co.uk/about/olp-facilities https://www.shu.ac.uk/research/specialisms/advanced-wellbeing-research-centre

Not enough though, besides our sports people I saw a list of Cameron's cronies who got something they didn't deserve.
BHRemovals
she should have won sports personality too.
abbeyedges
she should have won sports personality too. Great shout that BHR. She has been in the top three four times without ever winning. That's more than any other sportsperson. She should have won the year it was in Sheffield (forgotten the year) but the BBC decided to put Ryan Giggs as a nominee. With a huge Man Utd worldwide fanbase there was always only going to be one winner.
lottiecass
Why not just bar sports, entertainment and party donors from the list? Better still scrap it all together.

Button probably should have won that year (and came second, with Ennis third)
