Sir Ivan Rogers Resigns.

Recommended Posts

Well, seeing as this guy has told the government that their Brexit policy is 'muddled',maybe said government will appoint somebody who will tell them what they want to hear instead.

It is Sir Ivan Rogers who is 'muddled' because he doesn't understand, that the UK is completely leaving the EU.

The Government should appoint someone, who will do what they are told to do. which is to prepare the UK for completely leaving the EU.

The only reason anybody has been 'muddled' is because the government have been maintaining the fantasy that they can get an agreement that will maintain the benefits of being in the EU without the associated costs.

They have appointed someone. It appears that the only person who disagrees with his appointment is Nigel Farage.

How come the Prime Minister is talking about being in the Single Market then?.......that isn't Brexit,it's part of the EU,which means that Brexiteers are in the process of being duped if she gets her way.

Probably Sir Ivan is right about the muddled thinking. From what I've read about him on line though, he seems a typical Sir Humphrey. Explaining to politicians that you simply can't do that, Prime Minister, whilst having a superior smile on his lips.

He seems to have been a man with a big opinion of himself and a small one of everybody else. He's gone anyway and as he didn't want to leave the EU at all that is probably for the best.

It is not a fantasy to aim for continued tariff free trading with the EU, when they export more to the UK than the UK exports to the EU.

The Prime Minister says BREXIT means BREXIT.

The Prime Minister says BREXIT means BREXIT.

No,it means she wants access to the single market,and if that is not on her terms,THEN Brexit means Brexit;

The Prime Minister will use her Brexit speech later this month to “define” her approach to the upcoming negotiations with Brussels, sources said.

She will make clear that while Britain wants access to the single market, the Government is not afraid to walk away if Brussels attempts to resist Mrs May’s demands for full control of the UK’s borders.

It will infuriate Remain campaigners who are demanding that Britain retains membership of the single market.

However, it will be welcomed by Eurosceptic Tories pushing for a “hard Brexit” which gives Britain a clean break from the EU.

The problem with the single market in its current form, is the UK is not free to negotiate our own trade deals with the rest of the World. We don't know if the EU has any long term future, but the rest of the World definitely has and is growing in economic importance.

What does Brexit means Brexit mean?

And Nigel Farage would be a terrible choice to be ambassador to the EU seeing as ambassadors are civil servants and therefore not supposed to be political.

It means the UK is completely leaving the EU and there will be no freedom of movement.

I agree Nigel Farage would not be a good Ambassador. However, I agree with Nigel Farage's view that more Ambassadors should be replaced with people, who understand the UK are really leaving the EU.

That doesn't alter the fact that the Prime Minister wants Single Market access, contrary to what the Brexit campaign, and people like Gove was about, and the people who voted for Brexit on the basis of what he said, and others like him.
