carboy42
It seems everyone wants to sell sound bars these days or full surround sound kits. I have a very nice AMP all my TV equipment runs thru and a very nice B&W centre speaker but I sold my huge matching Left & Rights as they don't fit the new house. All I want is a pair of half decent Left & Rights to cover the sound that is missing as my Amp requires the 3 speakers to give me all the audio from source. I found these on ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/380885698532?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT And they are pretty much what I want and at that price point. I would however like to pick them up today as its a day off but Currys. PC World. Maplin. Argos etc all only seem to sell Sound bars and full surround sound kits these days. Only other places I know are Richer Sound and 7Oaks in Pondsfords and B&O on Eccy Rd but there all £150+ minimum which is past my current speaker budget. Anyone know anywhere else? Connecter type is important i.e bare wire. Cant just buy computer speakers as they have the 3.5mm plug on and I need bare wires to clip in the crocodile type receiver on the AMP. sgtkate
Well Richer Sounds is the place to go. No idea where you get the everything is over £150 from: http://www.richersounds.com/products/hi-fi-separates/speakers/bookshelf-speakers For a similar price I'd suggest these are probably pretty decent: http://www.richersounds.com/product/standmount-speakers/wharfedale/diamond-9.0/whar-9.0-blk ---------- Post added 27-01-2017 at 11:46 ---------- Phone them to check stock though! I want small speakers like in the link I added. I got rid of huge ones due space. They do have cheaper ones but not at the size I am after. They start at £150+
grand
just look on ebay for a cheap surround sound system and use speakers of that
999tigger
As abive the cheapest ones you are going to get will be to canibalize a surround sound system. You could Try Britsih Hear Foundation in town as they have electricals. Maybe cash converters otherwise ebay.

Thanks, thought I was going mad for a minute there...I did look specifically for speakers of a similar ilk to the ones in the OPs link..

Got them from Richer Sounds as well.. Got these as well to mount them on the wall. http://www.richersounds.com/product/speaker-brackets/btech/bt77/btec-bt77 Very solid and stick out a bit but that for me is a good thing. Edit.. Just to add if you get the brackets then dont bother with the supplied fixings as they are a bit OTT. Just use 1" 1/2 8 and normal red plugs as the will easily take the weight. apelike
If its a cost issue, these are only slightly bigger and at £20 would sound better than the ebay ones http://www.richersounds.com/product/standmount-speakers/tibo/edge-mini/tibo-edge-mini Go have a listen or talk to RS they may have a demo pair for you to try at home. Don't touch them with a bargepole, they are cheap for a reason and only good for bedroom or back surround speakers, and RS also don't favour them much. I had some and changed to the Diamond 9, so if anybody wants them cheap just PM.
