Roger Moffat

The last voice to be heard on the BBC light programme before it became Radio 2

The first man to swear on BBC television

Sacked from the BBC for reading out a shipping forcast whilst pretending to be in a boat on the serpentine.

His show, "Make way for Music" was a favourite of the Queen Mother

And yes, OK, may be not a good move but he was so sick of the way radio stations were mourning the death of Elvis that he said they were having him stuffed and put in reception.

A true legend

I agree with Diezeltruck completely.

It is very wrong and unfortunately all too common for people these days to want to rewrite history.

As a founder member of Radio Hallam in 1974 I am naturally very saddenned by this trend and strongly request that RH be given its own Wiki space especially as over time it is becoming less and less associated with the present day Hallam FM.

Content for a comprehensive Wikipedia page can be found at the website hallammemories.co.uk  which is operated by Mike Lindsay who many listeners will remember from the good old days.
