mslovak86
This is an invitation to film 'Alois Nebel' which will be followed by the director talk after the screening in the Showroom cinema on 1st March 2017 at 6pm. It's 1989, in a small train station in the Sudetenland near the Czech-Polish border. A chance encounter with a sanatorium patient propels loner Alois Nebel on a journey into Central Europe’s dark post-war past. Director Tomáš Luňák adapted his dark, atmospheric film from Jaroslav Rudiš and Jaromír 99's graphic novel of the same name. Employing a stark monochrome palette and stunning rotoscoped animation, ALOIS NEBEL is a hauntingly atmospheric tale of the Czech nation in transition. We're delighted to be joined by director Tomáš Luňák for a talk after the screening. In collaboration with, and organised by the Czech Centre London, the Czech and Slovak Society Sheffield, and the University of Sheffield's School of Languages and Cultures. Tickets at Showroom webpage. Edited February 17, 2017 by mslovak86
gNil
A good film - worth seeing. I've been involved in organising the visit and we're hoping the director's Q&A is interesting as well.
