Olive
OK, so I realise that if I put my own clock forward a month early, I'll be in my own personal land of timezone confusion for the next 4 weeks.... but seriously, if we've got to mess about changing the clocks twice a year, at least make it bearable. Why do we have to wait until the end of March (over 3 months after the winter solstice, when the clocks go back on only 2 months before the winter solstice) to alter the clocks when by then it'll be light until about 7 anyway? An hour of daylight after work would make this time of year a whole lot more agreeable. I gather there's some astronomical reason for the a-symmetrical arrangement, but morlocks to that! There. Off my chest now.

gomgeg
Why not leave clocks forward permanent was it not tryed out once ? Because when it was tried, four farmers in the north of Scotland complained that their cows didn't like dark mornings???

gomgeg
we may be able to leave the clock where they are then, if they leave lol They couldn't work it out that if they stayed in bed for another hour the result would be the same.
Daven
i remember one occasion in the 60's the clocks went backwards and forwards 2 hours ! it caused pandemonium and was never done again ! All school kids were issued with reflective armbands to walk to school as it was pitch black at 8.30am ! It's done for 'daylight saving' but messing with the clocks doesn't create any more hours of daylight does it ? Why is it done ? Padders
I think 2hrs forward for the summer months would be a good move. extra sunshine at night, when you need it.. sat in the garden beer and bbq. not going dark while 11 o clockish. Off my chest now. If I recall aright, UK clocks were moved onto BST at the end of February each year- until the EU demanded a common 'forward' date. unbeliever
We should just put the whole world on UTC and have people work different hours in different places. Also time should be decimalised.
