Daven
If I recall aright, UK clocks were moved onto BST at the end of February each year- until the EU demanded a common 'forward' date. So now we have Brexit do you think things will change ?

Justin Smith
OK, so I realise that if I put my own clock forward a month early, I'll be in my own personal land of timezone confusion for the next 4 weeks.... but seriously, if we've got to mess about changing the clocks twice a year, at least make it bearable. Why do we have to wait until the end of March (over 3 months after the winter solstice, when the clocks go back on only 2 months before the winter solstice) to alter the clocks when by then it'll be light until about 7 anyway? An hour of daylight after work would make this time of year a whole lot more agreeable. I gather there's some astronomical reason for the a-symmetrical arrangement, but morlocks to that! There. Off my chest now. I agree with you. Once it starts getting light as early as it does in late Feb, I`d rather have the light in the evening
