It was a Company called Laycocks, They made and supplied polishing mops for the Engineering industry.

They were major suppliers of all types of polishing materials for the Cutlery industry not Engineering, beside Laycocks in the adjoining building was C Walkers Cutlery firm in the 60s and 70s.

The Company I used to work from bought from Laycocks and we supplied Engineering Companies

In the 70's and 80's Laycocks sublet to Hill Bros, Warris &co andCamelot. Before Laycocks Shaw &Fisher used part of these buildings. It was rumoured before this A Friendly Society occupied part or all of the building to store deeds etc in a strong room. This was later used by Laycocks to store pumice for the buffers to use.
