Parcel force charge their workers £250 for each day they have off sick, to cover the cost of a replacement driver. This is wrong- drivers are self employed and already lose a days earnings if they are too ill to work- £250 is more than the days earnings already lost. andrejuan Posted March 11, 2017 Share Posted March 11, 2017 This is wrong on so many levels. However, when people apply to become S/E drivers they sign and agree to the terms and conditions. The problem in this country lies in the fact that if you do employ people on a proper basis, contract, guaranteed hours pay etc. the rights of the employee are massively weighted against the company, it's a minefield esp, for small and micro businesses.
