Chazo
Did anyone work as a crack detector in the Sheffield steel industry in the late fifties through to the seventies. I am particularly interested in speaking to anyone who worked with crack detection dyes at CG Carlisles. I am also interested in knowing any trade names of crack detection dyes used and who supplied these dyes. Any information or ideas how to get this info would be useful. Many thanks! RJRB
Although I didn't work directly on the testing side I know that we used a dye penetrant and white spray to show cracks called Ardrox. This was at Daniel Doncasters in the 1960s,and used on forgings of various types.
